White Hydrangeas and a Pop of Colour!

Updated: Oct 21, 2020

Yesterday one of my Brides from 2011 came in to see me and brought with her a CD of her wedding photos from almost exactly a year ago!  Time certainly does fly and it was lovely to meet up with Natalie (who is now sporting the cutest little baby bump!).

So I thought a nice way to say Happy Anniversary to this gorgeous couple, I would share some of the flowers from their special day.

Natalie is very creative and knew what she wanted from our first consultation.  Her bouquet was to be bright and tropical to reflect her family roots and everything else was to be white Hydrangea.

Natalie’s Bridesmaids were dressed in pretty salmon pink dresses, so their simple posies of white ‘Schneeball’ Hydrangea suited them perfectly, and Natalie’s posy provided a vivid pop of colour.

The men wore simple buttonholes of white Hydrangea, with the stem bound with satin ribbon.

Natalie’s bouquet was a tied posy of Gloriosa, Hydrangea, Viburnum, Tanacetum, Rudbeckia, Peonies and a few David Austin ‘Darcey’ roses.  The stems were tied with coordinating bright ribbon.

As I said earlier, Natalie is very creative and there were a lot of DIY aspects to her wedding.  She made the most beautiful laser cut invites, place cards and menus to match the pattern of lace in her dress and veil, and arranged all of the flowers at the reception venue.  Each table had glass vases of white Hydrangea and empty corners were filled with Hydrangea plants.  It was beautiful, elegant and professional!

And the cake?  The cake was a masterpiece!  Each tier of white and gold icing was filled with masses of Hydrangea and just looked stunning.

So congratulations Natalie & Ben on your first Wedding Anniversary and all the best to you both for your future as a family.
