Tapas, Sangria and Two Buns in the Oven!

On Saturday I went to my first ever Baby Shower… it was held for my sister-in-law Amy and her sister Elan who both have babies due in the next month.

The party was organised by our friend Marcia, (being American, she was the obvious choice!) and she thought of absolutely everything to make the afternoon such a laugh.  So I thought I would share some photos:

A Diaper Cake…

And some real Cakes, made by the talented Maria at Cake Away

Some pretty flowers….

I searched around in books and on the Internet for various Baby Quotes to put amongst the flowers and attached them with these super cute wooden pegs.

And some of the guests got to take home the flowers after the party.

Marcia collected a lot of goodies from the States when she was last over there, such as these adorable dummies filled with candy, and the fruit flavoured Baby Feet sweets.

The food was delicious (the Prawns were my favourite) and the Sangria plentiful (for the non pregnant and non drivers amongst us!).

Then came the games, which included ‘Guess the Flavour of the Baby Food’ and ‘How big is Mummy’s Tum!’  We also got to write tips, advice and well wishes on bibs and cards for Amy & Elan to take home with them.

It was a great afternoon, huge thanks to Marcia for all her ideas and to the Tapas Restaurant for opening specially for us and serving such fab food.  I can’t wait to meet my new nephew 🙂
